    • We are drafting a letter to the parking office to outline our concerns with the increased parking
  • Committee updates
    • Academics:
      • Two take a professor to lunch meetings went well
      • Still are looking for people to run workshops, if you are interested in this, please email Nicole (nwallack@caltech.edu)
    • Social:
      • There was supposed to be a GUSH before winter break, was supposed to coordinate with res life, but they are not doing this this year so we will be putting this on ourselves
      • Working on trying to loop in the dean’s office for helping with legal issues regarding formal
        • Still looking for a location
    • Advocacy:
      • We have brought up the issues we discussed last time with the deans, nd we are working to continue advocating for the proposed changes
      • There is a winter term workshop on tax prep, if anyone is interested in organizing this please let Phillip know (phelms@caltech.edu)
      • We are also trying to plan a mentoring workshop, also email Phillip (phelms@caltech.edu) if you’re interested in running this
      • There is no update on the stipend increase, we will probably hear back in January
    • Diversity:
      • Working on writing a report to outline the retention, recruitment, etc… of URMs on campus and on the climate at caltech
      • Gotten the go ahead from Doug to circulate this report among the graduate students
      • Email Aida if you’re interested in helping with this (abehmard@caltech.edu)
  • Event Funding Request
    • See the budget description that was sent out
    • MRS is asking for money to put on a event with a local professional society
    • Note that this is a recurring event, so it should have been submitted as part of the group’s annual budge
    • They did not submit a budget for club funding this year
    • If you have other questions about the proposal you can email Camilla (camilla@caltech.edu) or David (dibidave@caltech.edu) and they can reach out to the coordinator
    • We had some discussion about partial funding vs full funding
      • Note that the partial funding option is set at $10/person to avoid infinite options if you do not think they should get full funding. The $10/person is not a set amount that we give, and clubs can ask for as much as they would like.
      • We also discussed setting the partial funding option at the BoD meetings (or via Slack), and we can revisit this at the next meeting
